Fabriana Prawiranata Presents Her Master's Cumulative Review
Knoxville, TN, April 6, 2006

Fabriana Prawiranata presented her Master's work in Materials Science & Engineering investigating the synthesis, characterization and application of lignin-derived activated carbons for carbon capture. Fabriana participated in the 5-Year BS/MS program, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in May, 2025 and her Master of Science degree in May, 2026. She also has completed the Interdisciplinary Graduate Minor in Computational Science (IGMCS).

Fabriana's interdisciplinary work involved input from both the Tickle College of Engineering and the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture. Her committee from left to right included Dr. David Keffer (co-advisor, Materials Science & Engineering), Dr. David Harper (co-advisor, Center for Renewable Carbon) and Dr. Yanfei Gao (Materials Science & Engineering).

Many of us have greatly enjoyed having Fabriana as a student and a member of the MSE community for the past five years. Some of us think of her as a wizard, not just for one but two reasons.
