MSE Halloween Trivia Night
Knoxville, TN, October 29, 2024

The MSE department hosted its sixth(?) MSE Halloween Trivia Night.

Six teams of MSE undergraduates, graduate students, faculty and friends participated.

Jake Working, who has recently taken a new position at the university, returned one last time to reprise his role as trivia Master of Ceremonies.

Some teams, such as the the Fellowship of Ring, took the halloween costume component of the evening seriously.

The Elves of the Forest continued the fantasy theme.

This insect-themed team dubbed themselves Chrysaliscious, which I suppose is a portmanteau of chrysalis and delicious.

The lovable losers embraced the election season atmosphere in a bipartisan way.

This amazing team of graduate students triumphed with a superlative knowledge of both horror film franchises and thermal expansion of metals.

Our amazing MSE undergraduates won best team costume. Check out the feet, ears, beard and tiara!

Best individual costumes went to Fabriana Prawiranata seen here as Gandalf Graybeard, one of the Istari, servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the flame of Anor, and Jakob Scroggins, seen here as Galadriel of the Eldar, Lady of Lothlorien, daughter of Finarfin and bearer of Nenya, the Ring of Adamant.

Until next year!
