MSE @ Engineers Day Knoxville, TN, October 17, 2024  Each October, the Tickle College of Engineering at the University of Tennessee hosts Engineers Day, a tradition going back more than 100 years. Undergraduate engineering classes are dismissed for one day to allow university students and faculty to spend time interacting with hundreds of potential UT engineering students from high schools and community colleges across the region.  Both graduate and undergraduate students volunteered to showcase the Materials Science & Engineering department at Engineers Day. The local student chapter of MRS hosted the Egg-Drop contest.  There were exhibits featuring microscopy...  levitation via superconductors...  and hands-on tensile testing.  Thanks to Mary Kocak for organizing and taking photos.
