Leo Zella's PhD Defense Knoxville, TN, September 28, 2023 Leo Zella successfully defended his PhD dissertation in the Materials Science & Engineering department at the University of Tennessee. The subject of his research was the investigation of the fundamental atomic-scale mechanisms governing fast relaxation processes in glasses. He is pictured here with his advisor, Professor Takeshi Egami. We had the good fortune to participate in one paper that emerged from Leo's dissertation work:
