Lu Yu & Michael Broud present at the Center for Materials Processing Poster Competition
Knoxville, TN, August 13, 2021

Lu Yu, a PhD student in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering, co-advised by Prof. David Harper and Prof. David Keffer, presented a poster in the graduate competition.

Lu's work focuses on understanding the processing-structure-property-performance (PSPP) relationship of nano-structured lignin-based carbon products for energy storage applications.

Michael Broud, a sophomore in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering, co-advised by Prof. David Keffer and Prof. David Harper, presented a poster in the undergraduate competition.

Michael is performing classical Molecular Dynamics simulations as a high-throughput screening technique for lignin-based carbon dots as surface modifiers in activated carbons for carbon capture in flue gases.
