Free Improv Jam - November 23, 2013
The last day of the class in Fall semester, 2013 began with a self-organization experiment in which students ordered themselves according to their tolerance for non-idiomatic improvised music. Can you guess which end of this human spectrum corresponds to low tolerance and which corresponds to high tolerance? Class ended with a free improv jam. There was a quintet featuring musical saw, dulcimer, bass and guitar and accordion. It seems unlikely that this particular collection of instruments was ever assembled in an emsemble before. The sound that emerged was probably never heard before on Earth and in all likelihood will never be heard again. Taylor Forward played dulcimer. Spencer Trent played saw. Corey Lippert played accordion. Tanner Reynolds played bass. Ethan Willis played guitar. back to FYS 129 Main Page Contact: Instructor |
